Create and share custom pathways in Unique Learning System

This powerful update to Unique Learning Systems (ULS) gives educators more flexibility to adapt instruction while maintaining consistency across classrooms.

What are Custom Pathways?

Custom Pathways allow administrators and licensed users to personalize their ULS Pathways by adding, moving, or deleting content—all while keeping the same Scope and Sequence aligned with the chosen Grade Band. Once created, Custom Pathways can be shared with other users who are assigned to the same Grade Band, making collaboration seamless and effective.

This feature empowers educators to:

  • Personalize daily lessons to meet the needs of their students.
  • Save time by customizing existing pathways instead of starting from scratch.
  • Collaborate with colleagues by sharing tailored pathways within the same Grade Band.

*Please note: Custom Pathways cannot be copied from one unit to another.

How to create a Custom Pathway

Getting started is simple:

  1. Navigate to the Planner page under the My Account menu.
  2. Select Pathways and then Manage.
  3. Choose the ULS Pathway you’d like to customize.
  4. Rename your pathway and add collaborators (optional).
  5. Edit the pathway by adding, moving, or deleting content.
  6. Save frequently (auto-save is not available).
  7. When ready, select Publish to share your Custom Pathway with licensed users in the same Grade Band.

This new workflow ensures educators can easily adapt ULS resources to better support diverse learners, while still maintaining curriculum integrity.

Why it matters

With Custom Pathways, teachers and administrators can:

  • Enhance student engagement by tailoring lessons.
  • Ensure curriculum consistency across classrooms.
  • Strengthen collaboration by sharing resources with peers.
