The AI/ML team at Everway have just completed their first AI Learning Week (6–9 October) - a company-wide program designed to equip teams across Product, Engineering, Content, UX, and Design with practical skills to use generative AI in everyday work.
Everway, formerly Texthelp, a leader in assistive technology, builds tools that help people read, write, and communicate more effectively across learning and professional settings.
Unlike a traditional training course, AI Learning Week was deliberately hands-on. Every participant tackled a three-day solo project, with the goal of pushing the boundaries of current tools, discovering real efficiencies, and prototyping ideas with clear potential for customer and business impact.
“This was never about textbook learning,” said Lee Frankel, EVP of AI & ML. “We asked people to roll up their sleeves, test AI in their own workflows, and find where it makes a measurable difference.”
A week of experimentation and discovery
Across four days, teams explored tools including ChatGPT, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Replit, alongside Everway’s internal GPTs. Colleagues designed smarter content workflows, streamlined engineering tasks, and reimagined parts of product design and research.
Engagement was high: 125+ project entries were submitted and 40+ lightning demos were delivered at Demo Day. Projects were assessed for potential value and learning, not polish - with an emphasis on what worked, what didn’t, and where AI should be applied next.
“AI is moving fast, but the real transformation happens when people experiment in their own craft,” said Ryan Graham, CTO. “That’s what this week was about.”
What’s next
With AI now firmly on the agenda, Everway expects many of the week’s projects to progress into product features or internal efficiencies. Follow-up work will focus on turning the most promising prototypes into durable tooling, and tracking productivity gains by function.
