A simpler way to collect ideas across multiple sources in Read&Write

We’ve introduced Advanced Collect Highlights in Read&Write for Google Chrome and Edge, making it easier to gather and organise ideas from multiple sources - all in one place.

This update is available now for both Read&Write for Education and Read&Write for Work customers.

What’s new

When you’re researching or working online, it’s common to have multiple tabs open at once - articles, documents, websites, and reference materials. Until now, collecting highlights across those sources could feel fragmented.

With Advanced Collect Highlights, users can now collect highlights from multiple tabs into a single, central panel within Read&Write. Instead of switching between pages or worrying about losing information, everything you highlight comes together in one place.

The result is a clearer, more organised way to manage ideas as you read.

Designed for how people really work

Whether you’re a student researching a topic, an educator supporting structured reading, or an employee analysing information at work, managing content across tabs can be cognitively demanding.

Advanced Collect Highlights is designed to reduce that load by helping users:

Choice and flexibility built in

We know that different schools and organisations work in different ways. That’s why Advanced Collect Highlights is optional.

• Users can choose to enable it in Settings when they’re ready
• The existing Collect Highlights experience remains available
• Admins can decide whether to enable the new experience by default

This ensures teams can adopt the update in a way that fits their needs, without disrupting established workflows.
