More control during assessments with OrbitNote and Data Desk

We’ve introduced new controls in OrbitNote that help schools manage how features are used during exams and formal assessments.

With this update, OrbitNote now integrates with Data Desk, allowing administrators and educators to enable or disable specific features for Google Classroom users when needed.

What’s new

Administrators can now control which OrbitNote features are available during assessments, directly through Data Desk.

This makes it possible to tailor the tool to meet exam requirements - ensuring students can access appropriate support while maintaining the integrity of the assessment environment.

Designed for assessment environments

Schools and testing bodies often need to carefully manage which tools are available during exams. Without this level of control, tools may need to be restricted entirely.

By introducing feature-level controls, this update allows OrbitNote to remain available in testing scenarios - while aligning with local and regional assessment policies.

Supporting access and compliance

This update helps balance accessibility with compliance, giving schools the flexibility to support students while meeting assessment requirements.

By making OrbitNote more adaptable to exam settings, it becomes easier to use the same tools consistently - both in everyday learning and formal assessments.
