We’re thrilled to announce expanded support for one of the world’s most widely used learning environments, Blackboard. With this update, Read&Write now supports the Quill editor, allowing users to benefit from features like Text-to-Speech and Highlighting in Blackboard, Glean, and other popular platforms that use the Quill framework.
What’s new?
Students can now use Read&Write tools seamlessly within the Quill editor, gaining access to:
- Text-To-Speech: Listen to content directly in Blackboard without leaving the platform
- Highlighting tools: Annotate and engage with materials just like in other supported environments
- Consistent access: Enjoy the same Read&Write experience across more learning spaces

Why this update is important
Blackboard is one of the most widely adopted learning management systems worldwide and until now, students couldn’t use Read&Write’s essential literacy tools within it. That created barriers to learning and disrupted workflows, particularly for students who rely on Read&Write every day.
With this enhancement, Blackboard users can now benefit from seamless, integrated support, ensuring that students everywhere can access Read&Write’s tools no matter where they’re learning or working.
This update also benefits other platforms that use the Quill editor, such as Glean, extending Read&Write’s reach.
Now that Read&Write is compatible with the Quill editor, schools and universities can create more neuroinclusive digital learning experiences, so every student can read, write, and succeed with confidence.
