We’ve added 50 new passages to the uPar story library, meaning users now have access to a total of 164 stories across grade levels.
With the expansion of the story library, uPar now offers greater variety, choice and more accurate progress monitoring. The new stories are available now.
What’s new
We’ve added at least four new stories per grade level, including:
- Two expository texts
- Two narrative texts
This ensures students have access to a balanced mix of informational and narrative reading experiences.
By expanding the story bank, students are less likely to encounter the same story when completing uPar more than once. This is particularly important for rechecks and ongoing progress monitoring, where familiarity with a passage can affect results.
The additional stories also offer more high-interest reading choices, helping maintain engagement while supporting accurate assessment.

With a larger and more varied library, educators can feel more confident that uPar results reflect genuine reading ability rather than repeated exposure to the same texts.
