Special education classrooms today serve students with diverse language and learning needs, and teachers need accessible, inclusive materials to support them. That’s why Unique Learning System (ULS) is launching an expanded offering of Spanish-language content, giving educators essential tools to better serve Spanish-speaking students and their families.
This is the start of an ongoing rollout, with more translated content coming soon.
Why we made this change
Teachers have consistently told us they need ready-made Spanish resources to support instruction, not just for ELL students, but also for students who learn best when content is reinforced in their home language.
ULS is already a trusted tool for delivering daily instruction. By translating key content into Spanish, we’re helping educators:
- Reduce learning friction and anxiety for multilingual learners
- Promote comprehension and confidence during lessons
- Strengthen school–home connections, giving families access to materials they can understand and support
When parents can follow along with their child’s learning, they are empowered to stay involved and advocate with confidence.
What’s included in this release
The first phase of Spanish localization includes:
- 53 Library Books in categories such as Emergency Preparedness, Personal Safety/Care, and General Life Skills
- 60 n2y eXtras translated into Spanish across the same core life skill themes
- Communication boards that accompany these materials; now fully translated into Spanish for seamless use
A better experience for students and teachers
Educators can now filter or toggle to view only Spanish-language materials, making it easy to plan and assign lessons without manual searching or external translation tools.
Students can access the same lessons and stories as their peers in their native language, promoting inclusion while supporting comprehension.
This update helps teachers:
- Differentiate instruction with confidence
- Deliver consistent content across languages
- Provide culturally and linguistically responsive supports quickly, without rebuilding materials from scratch
This release is only the first step. More Spanish translations are on the way as we work toward a fully bilingual ULS experience across lessons, supports and communication tools.
