We regularly look at how educators use our solutions so we can focus our efforts on the resources and improvements that matter most to you.
Recently, we reviewed usage data for several News2you Current Issues activities, which indicated lower levels of digital usage. Based on that data, we made the decision to retire several activities and redirect our efforts toward features and enhancements customers were requesting most.
The activities affected by this change were:
- Read and Do
- Look, Read, Think
- Cut & Paste
- Build a Sentence
- Paragraph Completion
- Recipe Ingredients
- Recipe Review
- Cooking Vocab Words
However, after hearing from educators, we learned something important: the data didn’t tell the whole story. We are learning more about how you use and print these resources in your classrooms, since that usage might not always show up in our data.
We appreciate the educators who reached out and helped us better understand how these resources are being used in their classrooms.
We heard you, and we’re taking action
We are reinstating these News2you resources, and the activities will be available again today for both live papers.
What teachers tell us they love about News2you
Teachers tell us that News2you gives their students a way to learn about what’s happening in the world in a way they can understand and participate in.
They value having timely, ready to use content that supports different learners and can be used in the way that works best for their classroom, including in print. Most importantly, News2you helps students learn about the same events and topics their peers, families, and communities are discussing, giving them more opportunities to be part of the conversation.
We want to keep listening
This experience was an important reminder that data can tell us a lot, but it can’t tell us everything. Hearing directly from educators helps us understand not only what resources you use, but how you use them and why they matter.
For example, we have heard your requests for better ways to search our Current Issues. Soon, you will be able to search previously published Current Issues, indexed by topic, making it easier to find and use the content you need.
That’s also why we recently launched a new customer community. This gives educators another way to share feedback directly with us and helps us better understand what you value, what you need, and where we can improve.
